Once your template is cut out. Tape it down to the metal as
evenly as possible and trace around it with a permanent marker. You only
have to actually trace upto the straight line marks. From mark to mark you
can draw a line with a ruler.
Mark the bend points on the inside edges prior to cutting.
Place masking tape around the trace marks of the panel. The
tape keep’s the jigsaw from placing deep scratches in the metal. Do both
sides of the trace to keep your jigsaw level.
Cut the panel out using a jigsaw. Slow blade speed moveing
straight up and down (not angled) with cutting lubricant (wd40 or pb
blaster) works best.
De-bur the edges and smooth out curved points with a dremel or with some rough sand paper.
